Individual volunteer opportunities

Volunteers are a vital part of making our programs feel like their “home-away-from-home.” Some of the many benefits of becoming a volunteer include making new friends within the community and getting to know the wonderful families who are staying close to their seriously ill children.

Current opportunities

Ronald McDonald House London

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, with a minimum one-year commitment and at least two shifts per month.

House Support

A House Support volunteer plays an important role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. They are responsible for ensuring a clean and comfortable “home away from home” and seamless experience for our guest families. They play a key role in the daily operations and provide backup to the Family Services Team.

Currently recruiting for weekends only.

Time Commitment: Weekly or bi-weekly if on a set schedule, minimum two shifts per month

Shift Times: Daily, 9:00am-12:00pm, 12:00-4:00pm, 5:00-8:00pm

A Kitchen Support volunteer plays an important role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. They are responsible for ensuring that our guest families always have access to fresh and nutritious meal options, snacks, baked goods, and grab-and-go lunches within the kitchen and dining room spaces.

Currently recruiting for weekends only.

Time Commitment: Weekly or bi-weekly if on a set schedule, minimum two shifts per month

Shift Time: Daily, 5:00-8:00pm

Ronald McDonald House Family Room London (located inside LHSC)

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, with a minimum one-year commitment, at least two shifts per month, and a set schedule.

Family Room Host

A House Support volunteer plays an important role in creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our guests. They are responsible for ensuring a clean and comfortable “home away from home” and seamless experience for our guest families. They play a key role in the daily operations and provide backup to the Family Services Team.

Time Commitment: Weekly or bi-weekly if on a set schedule, minimum two shifts per month

Shift Times: Daily, 9:00am-1:00pm, 1:00-5:00pm, 5:00-8:00pm

A Cart With a Heart (CWAH) volunteer is responsible for operating a mobile hospitality cart within the Paediatrics units of LHSC. They play an integral role in fostering relationships and promoting the use of the Ronald McDonald House Family Room and London House Day Pass Program, which is a warm and inviting place for caregivers to relax and recharge.

Time Commitment: Weekly or bi-weekly if on a set schedule, minimum two shifts per month

Shift Times: Daily, 9:00-12:00am, 12:00-4:00pm, 5:00-8:00pm

Windsor House

Volunteers must be 16 or older. 16–17 year olds need signed parent/guardian consent. Minimum six-month commitment, at least two shifts per month.

Time Commitment: Weekly or bi-weekly if on a set schedule, minimum two shifts per month

Shift Times: Daily, 8:30-11:30am, 1:00-4:00pm, 6:30-9:00pm
